Genesis
They exist from day one, sealed in the contract where no one can take them out. They cannot be bought and cannot be mined: they are won with Birth Points, 125 at a time, in a draw at each of the 4 epochs. Once the last epoch is out, every week, part of the Vault is shared equally between every Genesis sitting in the Forge, paid into the Genesis's own wallet.
Put your Bitborn in the Forge, and from Season 2, burn or save. Points measure what you do, not what you hold. They cannot be bought, sold or transferred.
When an epoch unlocks, 125 Genesis are drawn among everyone holding points. 2,000 points give twice the chance of 1,000. No sign-up, no fee: holding points is enough.
The draw is locked to a future block before anyone can know the result, and anyone can trigger the reveal. Nobody, not even the team, can pick a winner or bury a result.
Win, and your points go back to zero: you can win again later, starting over. Don't win, and you keep every point for the next epoch. One Genesis per wallet per draw.
The Genesis is born the moment it is won: it lands in the winner's wallet and its image unseals on-chain, for the winner and everyone else at the same time. 500 Genesis for 20,500 mined Bitborn means most participants will never win one. We would rather say it now than let you find out.
Four epochs, 125 Genesis each. Each one unlocks when mining reaches its milestone, 25%, 50%, 75%, then 100% of the 20,500 mineable Bitborn, or on day 15, 30, 45 and 60 of mining, whichever comes first. Mining is open for 60 days only, so all 500 Genesis are released by day 45 at the latest, however many pieces were found.
Points measure what you contribute, not what you own. They are not a token: they cannot be bought, sold or transferred.
| Forge, first 3 pieces per piece, per day | 10 |
| Forge, pieces 4 to 10 per piece, per day | 5 |
| Forge, piece 11 and beyond per piece, per day | 2 |
| Burn a Bitborn one-off, from Season 2 | 300 |
| Save someone else's from Season 2, 1 point per 0.00005 ETH paid | up to 1,000 |
| Restore a Bitborn one-off, per piece | 200 |
| 30-day commitment multiplier on forge points | ×1.5 |
| 180-day commitment multiplier on forge points | ×2 |
Your first three Bitborn earn full rate. After that, each additional piece earns less. Held flat, someone with 100 pieces would earn 33 times more than someone with 3. With the decrease, it is 8 times.
That gap is deliberate, not an accident: capital should count for something, just not for everything. Over 60 days, a wallet sitting on 50 pieces earns 8,700 points. Someone with 3 pieces who commits for 180 days, burns twice and saves once earns 5,200. Close enough that participation decides.
Your Bitborn never leaves your wallet, and you can pull it out at any time. Leaving early does not confiscate anything, you simply drop back to the lower multiplier. There is no penalty, only a bonus you stop earning.
Each Genesis comes with its own on-chain account, built on ERC-6551, an open Ethereum standard. Think of it as a small wallet built into the piece: it has its own address, it exists from the day the collection is deployed, and it always belongs to whoever holds the Genesis.
Regular Bitborn do not have one: giving 20,500 pieces an account each would cost gas without changing anything.
What a given Genesis looks like stays sealed until it is born: nobody sees one before its winner does. What we can tell you is how they are made. Every Genesis is a character from one of the four bloodlines, Human, Zombie, Ape or Alien, reworked in one of three styles. Genesis are not numbered like mined pieces: they are Genesis #1 to #500.
The original Genesis. A grayscale character with streaks of spectral colour breaking out of its silhouette, like light through a prism.
Black and white, except for a single trait that keeps a soft colour. One detail, and only one, survives.
Black and white built from a halftone pattern, light and dark pixels alternating like an old print. The rarest of the three.
The three styles are spread evenly across the epochs: each draw of 125 holds nearly the same mix, so winning early or late gives the same odds of each style.
Every secondary sale carries an 8% royalty. The split is fixed in the contract and cannot be changed.
| Vault funds the weekly Genesis share | 80% |
| Project operations and marketing | 20% |
Every restoration, and from Season 2 every save, also lands in the Vault . None of that depends on a marketplace honouring royalties.
Nothing is paid out while the collection is being mined: the Vault only accumulates. Once the fourth epoch is released, every week, part of the Vault is shared equally between every Genesis engaged in the Forge. Then it starts again the next week, and the week after, for as long as the collection lives. The fewer Genesis in the Forge, the larger each share.
Every mined Bitborn is born with a Hash Scar, the trace of the work that found it. Its holder can choose to restore it: every torn pixel comes back, every displaced pixel returns to its place, the white outline disappears. The original colours were sealed with the piece from day one, so a restoration can never be invented.
0.002 ETH, paid to the Vault, and 200 Birth Points. A restoration is permanent: once restored, a piece is never scarred again. Every restoration makes the scarred pieces left a little rarer. The piece keeps its Hash Scar in its history and gains Condition: Restored. Genesis and one-of-ones cannot be restored: their state is part of the work.
